So the Chorus lines people are outside at the moment pulling fibre past my property but I've checked and there is no plan in the next few years to make it available. What are they doing and can I find out when it might be available?
Thanks

I would suspect it's Backhaul fibre, not UFB.
If your in a rural area, it's possible it will be built out with Rural Fibre. but that doesn't just go as cheap as you would hope...

expect 10k+ quote

Where are you located?
Rural?
I’ve got fibre going past my property but because I’m rural and not in a UFB area I’ve been quoted just under $14k to get connected. :(
I assume that you have already put the order in since that is the single biggest upgrade to the property you can do and its cheap too.

You want to call your ISP and ask for a "NGA on application", and yeah, expect 5 figures.
I daresay it's backhaul fibre, not rollout fibre; if so, you will need to pay to connect to it.

That's what I told my wife but she won't go for it! :(
We also don't have that much to spend right now.
Do Chorus let you pay it off over say 12 months?

I contacted Full Flavour as they seem to one of the few ISPs that will deal with rural fibre.
