Hi All

I have an ipaq 1940 with a GPS bleutooth remote unit, It has an existing TomRom 5 software on it.
I can get the GPS to read the ipaq and it finds the Bluetooth connection, however when I go to the Tomtom program, it finds no GPS, in fact when I shut down Tomtom and go back to the PDA desktop, GPS has been disconnected which tells me that I am either missing a patch or that I have a PDA that sulks.
I am a hardware engineer - and not network/bluetooth software conversant, this means I am a bit thick when it comes to Knowing PDA's and how to install programs like Tomtom - Help will be most appreciated. - Jim

I suspect this is a case of selecting the wrong Bluetooth serial port. It's a while since I used v5 but I guess you have to go through 'Preferences', select your BT device (select 'Other' if it's not in the list) then select the appropriate serial port. IIRC, you can get that information from one of the built-in utilities (is it 'Connections' in 'System' tab?).

Also, if I leave my 1940 on for long periods, it periodically forgets what it's supposed to be doing, including talking to my BT GPS receiver. A soft reset fixes that.
