Not meaning to troll, but $3250 seemed a bit much for a 2nd hand rig, so i decided to check out how much those same parts brand new are, just because i have too much time.

Build is from C1 Shoppingmall, the hard drive and ram are actually slightly better also.
Also i must add that your build uses very expensive parts, i noticed that there are very similar cheaper ones also, to get effectively the same performance. Still, i tried to be as identical as possible.

Thats $136 more if you buy the whole kit brand new, which is a drop in the bucket at the $3k mark.

I know its 1 month old but dont you think thats a bit much? I know people on tardme might pay that, but still.

Anyway, good luck with the sale i guess.

well i wish i had found the parts that cheap PLUS my vista is a FFFFFUUUUULLLLLLL retail version worth $900 not a upgrade or OEM version
Also the price listed is a BUY NOW not my reserve price so it could easily go for under 3k

And yes i do think your right, you have a wee bit to much time on your hands but, hey, cheers for trying to beat me down dude.... i paid $4500 well actually $4436 and have receipts
I actually brought the parts 2-3 months ago but only got it put together about a month ago

But given that it is possible to build the exact same computer for around $3800-$4000 i might have to think again about the price but i will see if the auction goes first cause someone will still be getting a good deal

Full retail Vista sealed in the box never activated incl SP1 $599 (first site I checked, others may be cheaper).
If your Vista is not brand new shrinkwrapped, then even a full retail Ultimate as a secondhand item is gonna be worth like $300 tops.

I'm not trying to put people off the auction, pretty much i wouldn't think anyone here will buy it (not many gamers?), but people on Trademe WILL purchase computer parts without a lot of research, even if they are overpriced.
In fact most pre built boxes on tardme are overpriced, yet they still get sales.

If you keep at it, you might be able to sell it at $3k, problem is time, if you're due to leave some time soon.

C1Shoppingmall is one of the cheapest in the country usually, so from most other places you're looking at $4k even.

Theres nothing wrong in wanting and trying to get the most possible for your gears...whether your get it is another thing...

The reality is, with technology moving so fast, especially in computing, what you paid for today will likely be worth next to nothing tomorrow...(don't take that literally)

Also, when you have a price tag of $3000ish, your in a whole new league, and people would expect not only the latest and greatest, but also it being new and under warranty.

I do wonder why you spent so much, knowing you were to go on a trip only 1 month later?

Wish ya well on ya trip and with ya hopeful sale.
