When I download add-on for my new iPod Nano from the Apple site, there is nothing telling me how to use the ZIP file or its unzipped contents to install them on the iPod.  The opened zip files do not have any file such as setup, installl, exe, etc.  Any ideas?

http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/ipod_itunes/

I downloaded several freeware programs, such as iTunesShut.zip.  BTW, while 3 were zip files, I notice 2 others came as .dmg files, which don't seem to run at all under win xp.

I see nothing about sys requirements except at the top of the page, and it includes Win XP.  Doesn't Apple have any way to chat with or email an Apple tech?  I can't find any link.

Apple tech wouldn't help you with third party apps.
.DMG files mean that they are for osx and wont work at all in windows.
