Hi guys

Ive been reading up on power banks and it seems there is alot getting recommended on reddit etc but every link on Amazon and Aliexpress and Ebay all don't ship to New Zealand anymore. I even found some posts from literally 2 weeks ago where people brought Anker powerbanks with no issues but now the exact links say they don't ship to New Zealand either.

I need a USB-C Powerbank and was hoping to get something like the AUKEY 30000mAh Portable Charger or the Anker powercore+ 20100

Is there anything locally which would be similar to these? It seems like powerbanks are a difficult thing to get now

i would say the 30000mAh one would be too big to ship

The power core should be fine, you just need to have it shipped to a reshipper then shipped to you

Most reshippers will no longer ship batteries due to the fact they're now restrcted, this includes YouShop. There are plenty of threads on here about this. In reality none of them should be shipping these without going through proper process, and it's clear may sellers aren't.

As of the last time I looked (about 5 days ago as it was posted on here) Ankerdirect on eBay were still shipping to NZ.

I personally wouldn't get a 30000mAh device if you ever plan to travel with it as this will require prior permission from some airlines (such as Air NZ) and is banned on others.

Walk into an electrical store (Noel Leeming, etc) and buy one. If you want to take it on a plane check the maximum capacity before you buy.

Anker direct was the one I tried. When I click buy now it says it won't ship to New Zealand straight away

I don't need the 300000mah one. Was just one some people were recommending in usa

For the Switch if you want it to charge while playing, you'd want to get a USB-C capable power bank capable of fast charging at 15W+, anything less won't be able to keep up with the power draw.

The Dell one is USB C not sure about fast charging though. It's grunty enough to charge my XPS 13 so I suspect it would do the job.

As mentioned above Ankerdirect on eBay are still shipping to New Zealand.

I also highly doubt you need a USB-C capable device - a USB3.0 Powerbank with cable or adapter is going to meet those requirements.

That item very clearly says it can't be shipped to NZ. Pretty much everything else on the Ankerdirect store has shipping to New Zealand listed as option and there are so issues in doing so - I just clicked on a few now and get to the payment screen fine.

My pick would be whatever shipping method they're using won't allow lithium batteries of that capacity.

Interestingly, I just tried the item and it obviously wouldn't ship to NZ. I went to their store and selected the same item and it now appears to ship to NZ...

Weird. Worth a go though.

How do I charge this power bank? I read online and it said to charge it you need 5v 2.4a or higher charger. Do I just buy like a 5v 2.4a or higher usb phone charger or something?

you buy a usb wall charger that can output the required power to fast charge it. anker do these too
