I know this looks like a very simple and even dumb question, as it would be very easy to check the bands in the website, but it looks that there is something wrong in the specs:

In this website, Apple says that the A1522 model doesn't work on New Zealand:

On this website, Apple says that the supported bands of the model are "1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 13, 17, 18, 19, 20, 25, 26, 28, 29". In the Wikipedia page (and other ones), is said that the LTE bands used in New Zealand are 3, 7, 28, which are in the list.

Does someone have a clue of why in the first website Apple doesn't includes New Zealand as a supported country for A1522?

This Apple site (https://support.apple.com/kb/SP706?locale=en_US) says there are TWO different types of "A1522" - a GSM one, and a CDMA one.

Bad, Apple, Bad!  Different types shouldn't share model numbers.

CDMA isn't a supported service in NZ any more - which may be why you're seeing not seeing NZ on a supported country list.

If you've got the GSM A1522, you should be fine, I would have thought.
