Looks like they soft launched it. Just added my BNZ Visa card.

ALTRON: I can add my visa Flexi debit via wallet and then it asks me to verify card using the BNZ app but there is no option to verify my card under the “cards”section
Make sure you're running the latest verison of the BNZ app. Works fine for me with the latest update.

all worked great here and already used it this morning!
They're promoting it on Facebook, so I think it's a full launch.
I have managed to add my card to both my iPhone and watch. When I added my watch it appeared as if it might have failed and the BNZ app is still showing the option to add it, however if I try to add it again I get told it's already active. Double pressing the side button on the watch seems to activate Apple Pay, so I think it's going to work okay.
The instructions from BNZ advise to place your finger on touch ID and hold your phone up to the machine, but further detail implies that your phone needs to be unlocked for it to work. Am I understanding that correctly?

You don't need to unlock it at all – just rest your thumb/finger on the Home button and hold it against the reader for 2-3 secs. Your iPhone will recognise that it's a NFC terminal and do everything for you (as long as your correct thumb is on the Touch ID sensor).

Thanks - that sounds easier.
I was just confused by the last sentence in this statement below. I'm not too sure why you would need to 'get your card ready'?
Press release issued half an hour after I added my card. http://www.scoop.co.nz/stories/BU1710/S00659/apple-pay-available-to-bnz-customers.htm

It's used if you have multiple cards loaded into Apple Pay.

Thanks - that makes sense now.
I had the problem where the app said I had no active cards. Had to call the help desk and they sorted it out in a few minutes so now Apple Pay is all set up. No idea if I will ever use it but that is not the point, is it :D
