Hey All,
Looking for offers on my much loved "Apple Mac Pro" case, only serious offers will be considered, these are not cheap to buy in the first place.
- Fits mATX motherboard
- 4 x Hard drive bays all working, cables modified to work with standard SATA.
- Have most of the screws for the hard drive caddys and CD drive.
- Front panel works power button and LED, audio, 2 x USB 2.0 all modified to work with most standard motherboards using normal connectors.
- Front firewire should work also but never had a motherboard with firewire to test it, this requires no modification to work so should really be no problems.
- Front CD drive will work if you remove your drives caddy front panel, but door is a little sticky sometimes, never put the effort in to figure out why, it will probably be an easy fix.
- Fits an ATX power supply, this is one part that could do with some extra work, its not the easiest to get the cables run to the motherboard, fits in fine otherwise, cable from case back runs to power supply (basically just an extension)
- Motherboard mounts have been installed using epoxy glue, these seem to have worked very well over about 5-6 years, (house moves and such) although one mount is missing in the bottom right, easy to fix, but not really required (would probably recommend carefully tightening these as twisting too hard may cause them to break, they seem very solid but I'm just giving you my feeling on this)
- At the back I very carefully installed the back panel of a Chenbro case so nice and solid, riveted in, used a Dremel to make the edges nice and clean to fit this.
- Back slots can be a little annoying to screw in but hey these are the things you live with when you modify something like this.
- 120mm fan fits in the back
- I also added a front fan recently, just using cable ties, I had a rather large graphics card in here.
- Case side fits on as per normal.
- Last PCIe slot on motherboards will likely not be usable unless you remove the last to drive bays, again these are the things you live with.
This case would be great for someone who wants something unique, maybe a hackintosh build, I always intended to add water cooling to this case as there is a massive amount of room at the front to fit this but never got round to it.
Reason for selling, wanted to move to a more practical case for gaming\work\storage, baby on the way so no time for doing modifications for water cooling and such in the future, I feel like someone else will have much more fun with this.
Happy to answer any questions, pictures below, can probably upload more if you want something specific, pickup in CHCH but can probably organise shipping at buyers expense and liability (will obviously package to the best of my ability, also have the box from my new case to use for packing)
