Hi all,

If I could play those captured .ts files smoothly, does that mean that my pc could cope with Freeview HD live stream decoding?

My pc spec:
E8200 2.66GHz/NV 7900GS/4G/XP SP3&Vista Ultimate SP1

You can probably play back 576i OK and ger reasonable results with the TV1/TV2 720p files OK but you would probably struggle with the 1080i TV3 feed since your video card is not capable of H.264 hardware acceleration.

Pretty much. The tricky part with HD content is rendering the video, and the .TS sample files are practically the raw data as captured from the tuner card.

Of course, you still need to make sure you can actually receive DVB-T broadcasts in your area. Tongue out

Thanks very much for the replies:-)

Actually I could play the captured TV3 .ts file (1080i I think) perfectly,  except no sound (audio codec isn't configured properly).

What software are you using to play back the files? You need something like PowerDVD8 that supports H.264 + AAC audio.

Sound is playing well now...

All I use is DVBViewer + FinalCodec (Which has almost every single decoder you have seen:-P)
