Hi Folks, I currently have the above card installed and want to know if i can recieve and record DVB-T HD with this card? I currently use a sky box but would like to freeview terrrestrial HD if this card will do that if not should I be trying the HVR 4000 quad?

Yes you can. Certainly receiving it is pretty easy. But the display of it does cause a number of issues (as evidenced by the number of thread on GZ about it).

BTW I'm assuming you're using Media Portal or GBPVR or some such software and not MCE or Vista MCE.

The HVR-4000 only gives you DVB-S2 in addition to the HVR-3000's capability, so no you don't need to go up to the 4000 for FreeviewHD. However the 4000 comes with PowerCinema which allows you to record and view FreeviewHD (hardware acceleration available via registry hack) while the 3000 only has WinTV which WILL NOT display FreeviewHD. So with the 3000 you will need third party software.

Thanks for those suggestions. With regard to third pasty software what would you suggest? I see that there are a few options out there but I am wondering what is the most stable.

Take your pick, the main two used over here is Gbpvr and Media portal. Might be worth trying out both of them, so you can make up your own mind...
