Hi guys,

first i'll start with the specs

Win7 RC (7100) 64bit
ATI Radeon 4770 w/ Catalyst 9.6 drivers
Hauppauge 900H USB TV-Tuner

My issue is in 7MC I can watch 1,2, & 3 perfectly. However every other channel displays a black channel with audio cutting in and out.

I have drawn the conclusion It could be an issue with Microsoft Windows Media Foundation codecs and ATI.

Using MediaPortal I was able to view channels 1,2 & 6. Weird huh?

I tried replacing the foundation H264 codec with CoreAVC but alas there is no 64bit CoreAVC codec yet so this does not work.

Is anyone else experiencing this problem or has seen a solution posted elsewhere? I've raised this with Hauppauge themselves yet no luck.

Tempted to give build 7260 a go. I know it works fine under Vista & Windows 7 32bit. And there is no issue using an Nvidia video card

Please do a search this has been covered a bunch of times now. The issue is that the Radeon drivers do not like our DVB-T standards for non HD channels. Nothing to do with Media centre all the MC flavors of software that work with our DVB-T freeview have the same issues.

The simple but not cheap answer is to replace the 4770 with a Nvidia card and you will be away.

Someone did mention in another thread that newer builds of Windows 7 eliminate this problem? true?

No the issue is with ATI's drivers and will remain until ATI fixes it. As Nety said, if you want the SD channels on Freeview DVB-T in 7MC you will need to use an Nvidia card.
