Yeah Kayo do stipulate that they don't support VPN's and that you must be in Australia to consume the content...was hoping this was a good option but argh nope

Of course they say that, as they only have Australian rights. Doesn't mean it can't work via vpn, just they don't allow it.

ie you don't get to ring up Kayo tech support from New Zealand and say you're having issues viewing here via your VPN.

Has anyone come off the 0800 deal and managed to get another one; or have they had to go through the stand-down period?

I'm pretty sure that they are only for new connections, which means that you have to go through the stand down period. When I stopped Sky in December I was told that I would have to wait 3 months before I could get any special deals.

The 0800 deal used to have a thirty day standdown, better than the standard sky 90 day, not sure about the other deal

Or if you can , sky bases the standdown on name not address - so my flatmate and I swap the name on the account every 12 months

What Clinty said. Sometime they enforce 30 days then they say its 3 months. In the current Sky climate I feel they are chasing numbers, as I posted earlier they called someone who cancelled 8 years ago, asking if they want to subscribe. I can't be ar$$ed cancelling, waiting, taking the box back, losing recordings, etc but I was considering calling and saying I want to cancel, what can you do?

I figured i have been with sky and was due some reward (lol) so i rang them up and complained that the deals for new customers were generally better than for the existing customers.. after a slightly difficult discussion with a lady whose first language was not English i managed to get Sky to offer 2 months of free mysky ($15 per month), i was kind of hoping for 6mnths of sky sport but nothing happening on that front!!

Its probably worth calling and seeing what you can negotiate out of them.

I have Sky through Vodafone, just returned my multiroom and 2nd decoder as no longer needed. I am out of contract with VF fibre and have had 3 cold calls re switching to VF TV.

I'm going to call the sales team tonight and see if I can get 12 months of Sky Sport and VF TV if I sign on for another year. If not I'm going to look at going direct to Sky for Starter plus sport

Finally got this sorted tonight. Brilliant customer service on the phone. Got the 12 months of sport free! Have gone from paying $170 a month for naked unlimited fibre, sky and sports to $113 a month for starter and sport and naked unlimited fibre.

Now lets see what the wait for VF TV delivery is

Only issue is what happens if I get Fibre in September and if they can give me a decent plan say 200/20 or 900/500 for a decent price.

I'm 70/30mbps so I think I'd be ok.

Yes, VTV is available on VDSL provided the speed at the customer address reported by Chorus is > 17Mbps. This speed requirement is to help ensure live TV will stream on up to 2 boxes and while also allowing some additional bandwidth for other internet applications.

I noticed this to. A good indication that they have been deleted by either the author or GZ admins.
