Yeah, they didn't have one in stock to listen to last time I went I don't think.
I'll give them a call.
I have been playing Borderlands 3 with a friend for a while now, and because we constantly have sound issues, I had been plugging in my HyperX Alphas into the headphone jack of the Controlled, because most of the time, it works.
I recently decided to have another go at trying to get my Astro A50's to work and was able to. It's literally jaw dropping how much more detail, and how much more precise the direction of sound is.
The A50's weren't cheap, but I can't recall the last time the sound of a headphone was so starkly improved over another.
I was just blown away.
So, browsing head-fi.org I found a segment on equalizing and a highly recommended product called Sonarworks. I was dubious to start with, but I bought it on black friday for 40% off and *wow* seriously, it's changed things and made them much better for me.
The HD800S have a particular sound signature, and often it's critised for being fatiguing to listen to because it's so precise and analytical. This product has some (lots) of presets for most the popular headphones. It's pretty much plug and play. I have really enjoyed listening to the HD800S but also the Beyer T1's again. I highly recommend it.
Smix: @networkn did you ever try using one of Oratory1990’s presets with Equalizer APO? Interested to hear how that compares with a paid product.
I did. I didn't mind it to be honest, but I've not done a side by side comparison as I don't usually have the time for that.
I was pretty blown away by the EQ on the Beyer T1 to be honest. I am not sure how I'd characterise the difference, but I know I like listening to it better.
Sonarworks is a lot "easier" and it auto switches when you change input/output which is nice.

I bought a pair of Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 2 this week and figured I should share some thoughts.
Their sound quality is really excellent for a product of this type. They are a little bit bass heavy but it's well controlled and inoffensive, and the EQ is manually adjustable if you don't like the default settings. I've previously been using the AirPods Pro which are okay, but the Momentums offer a degree of richness that the AirPods Pro just can't match. Overall I would say the Momentums perform significantly better than the AirPods Pro.
I also find the Momentums more comfortable due to the 'twist to seat' design and the fact that the buds sit nicely on top of the inside of the ear. With the AirPods Pro the shape of my ears caused the stems to extend directly forward, parallel with the ground, which left them exposed to gravity and objects catching on them.
My only criticisms of the Momentums is the lack of wireless charging, and the noise cancelling isn't as effective as other noise cancelling headphones that I have used.

Thanks, these are the two on my shortlist to eventually replace my Galaxy buds (although probably AirPod Pro 2 and Momentum Wireless 3 by the time I upgrade as I’m very happy with buds at moment).
I had been erring towards the AirPods on account of their better noise cancelling and ‘play better’ with Apple.
But music and fit are important to me and I had read that AirPods fit is not as comfortable as some others. And interesting re twist to seat as this is how the Galaxy buds work and they are super comfortable for my ear.

The noise cancelling is a valid concern. I wouldn't say there is a massive difference between the two but it's enough to be quite noticeable, at least on the train where I mostly use mine.
As far as the ecosystem is concerned, I would say that linking your AirPods to your iCloud account and easily switching between devices on the same iCloud account is a useful feature if you are an Apple freak with lots of devices. In my case it's unlikely that I will use my headphones with anything other than my iPhone, except maybe my Mac or Apple TV on rare occasions.
It's my understanding that the Momentum True Wireless 2 can pair with multiple devices (8 or 10 I think?) but they can't simultaneously connect with two devices as is the case with some other Sennheiser products such as the Momentum cans.
I should add that I have had some minor annoyances with my AirPods Pros, such as draining instead of charging when in the charging case, and abnormal battery state readings. These occurrences are rare, but they are a reminder that you're using a product designed by a computer manufacturer rather than a heritage audio company that takes their reputation seriously.
Snap @alasta I bought the same Truly Wireless ones this week. I got a reasonable deal, though by no means were they 'cheap'.
I'd agree entirely with your assessment of the sound. I am not in love with the comfort yet, but I do have fairly sensitive ears etc.
I'll try and get some more listening in, I have only really had them in for around 30 minutes total if that. It's been a crazy few weeks.
RRP is $550 and I got mine on special for $420.
Are you sure that price of $299 is legit? It seems a bit too good to be true, and makes me wonder if they might be counterfeits.

$299 on Mighty Ape, I'm semi tempted
Those are the momentum 1's. I think the 2's are $100 better easily. TheMarket had it at 385 which is what I paid I think.

Ah, you're right, too good to be true.

I made the similar mistake :)
