Had my ticket closed email yesterday after about a month of no response. Completely useless reply, waste of my time and the time of the person who wrote it.

tdgeek: [Cody 2.5 MB/s download and 756 KB/s upload, and I live 7 KM/s from the exchange!!!]

If you get that connect rate, you are certainly not 7km out. It appears that the filter you removed was faulty.

i think he was just making a joke... trying to get people to remove their filters...

Hi Kilack

ohhhhhh, ok.

We do see a LOT of false assumptions made on here, hence my reply.

Cheers

A clear consistent official network status update, twitter announcement and/or email notification from Telecom ideally before implementing an across the board rate shape on international http downloads would have curtailed pretty much all the false assumptions.

Even now there still is no clear official statement.

Very disappointing.

Has there ever been a clear official statement from telecom in reference to an issue or fault though? I cant even log into their own bloody site at present to check my usage!

I think it started last Thursday. You can never shake it,it always finds you. Telecom always has to screw you over when you think finally they have given you a good connection,or something that resembles it.

So I guess my problems are the same as everyone else.

I used to be able to stream video from international sites. Now it is impossible. International traffic is terribly slow peak and off peak.

All speeds were fine when I first switched over to this plan - they weren't huge but they were adequate for what I require.

I don't think I'm expecting anything unrealistic. I don't expect huge speeds for an unlimited cap. All I want is for speeds to go back to how they were. At the moment this plan is a huge waste of time.

I've noticed today my speeds have gone done again.. I was hitting 100kbytes most of the time..
Now they are around 30kbytes..

As someone said, I guess now it would be nice to actually hear from someone at Telecom about what exactly they are doing, trying to do etc etc.

The only thing is i don't think there is alot that can be done from our end, we just have to sit here like lab rats while they play around with the shaping rules...

Their webiste is down
XT is doomed to connection issues
BigTime can't handle anything bigger than a text file
You can't stream news from their own website on their own plan
And now their website is down.

Anyone else seeing a pattern? LOL

Everything is still shaped to a dogs breakfast.  I can't even get a solid 6KB/s  let alone watch TVNZ.  I am wondering...what DNS adresses are you guys using...like your primary and secondary?

It's 10:40pm here and Ventrilo is completely unuseable, I'm actually disconnecting from the server multiple times as it can't cope with the data load.

Safe to say they havn't fixed anything, only made everything remotely redeeming about the plan, worse.

Well, my experience over the last week hasn't been too bad actually.  I can now game at nights and after 2am I'm able to download at full speed no dramas.  Connecting into our citrix server in ozzie is now working at acceptable levels (sure, its not as quick as it has been, but its better than it was).

I  hardly ever download anything over HTTP but certainly SSL during the day is throttled - but at 1mb, which is acceptable.

If this is the status quo, I am happy to stay on this plan, but if we have further dicking around like in the last month, I'll probably switch.
