One grumble.

I've got 2 Paradise email accounts and on both the email from Vodafone was in the Paradise webmail spam folder. I do not remember ever marking Vodafone emails as spam.

Grrrr.

Pumpedd:  Cable is still underperforming after well over a year.

I built a suburban wireless network across 3 suburbs just to avoid that network ;)

The HFC is what it is.  CFH have over built it with UFB, so the only thing to be said is 'change providers if you're not happy'.

+5 for the above.

I have five paradise.net.nz email accounts. All Vodafone 'Important Messages' (from the actual ISP that manages those accounts) ended up in the spam folders.  Most of which are no longer available because they were purged automatically!

Two of those important messages were saved. The first forwarding 'set up' link that I tried then failed immediately onscreen with 'Invalid email address'.

I have been with paradise since the first days of 'Jetstream' - For all of those past years before VF acquired it from clear.net it was a rock-solid-no-spam-ever top notch service.

I'm seriously unimpressed so far.

Once you've setup your new email, do you have to transfer all your existing emails over so you can still access them after Nov 30?

Not if they've not been removed from Vodafone's servers. IMAP (webmail) will have no access. Either download them to your local machine (my recommendation) or manually transfer them.

Check out vodafone.co.nz/email for further details and instructions.

There has been a phishing spam floating around that I seem to get at least every month or two as below, considering now the info is fairly factual. Vodafone need to imediately create some filters to remove them!

Dear username@ihug.co.nz,

We received a message to terminate your email account (username@ihug.co.nz) on 11/09/2017, the process by our Vodafone Security Team…..

This is a warning or your email will be terminated.

I know this was briefly mentioned earlier in the thread but what are peoples recommendations for setting up their own domain names and hosting? I'm willing to spend a little but hopefully less than $100 per year for half a dozen or so addresses on the one domain, is that possible?

I subscribe to a number of websites using paradise email as my login. Not sure how to correct this without having to resubscribe.

@Pumpedd login to those websites and update the email address or contact the admin for the sites if you can't do it online

I saw Zoho mentioned in this thread already but they even do a free option (50 users, 5GB per user) for mail hosting. https://www.zoho.com/mail/

1stdomains, discountdomains.co.nz and onlydomains are a few to start with. The latter two also provide email subscriptions.

If you're an Outlook user and wish to explore all it has to offer there is Microsoft's Office 365 Essentials, which gives you access to Exchange Online. Mate this with your own domain name. For many of my users this has been a boon, as it allows them to have a 'live' experience across all their devices.

My understanding is you can still use that email as your username/log in.

But because it's your login it's also used as the address to communicate with you.

I have many websites where my login is my email address.

I've just gone through them all, and there were heaps, and all of them had a facility to change my email address somewhere in settings or profile.

Some required you to authenticate the new address, by sending you an email to the new address with a link for you to click.

After that you just login using your new email address and all customer info was retained. Didnt even have to change passwords.
