dan: im not sure what this 2.02 upgrade has done, or if it was a VFNZ problem,
but my phone is now using the internet, without a iphone data plan and without using unlockit.co.nz or any kind
of APN change (No Wireless Where i am, Disabled it to be sure)

The Usage meter on Cellular Data Network on the phone shows its used traffic for the first time

and its not to good, 3.1meg down and 733k up since this morning!

Update:

I had my phone on GPRS, i switched it to 3G, tried it again, internet no longer worked, then switched it back
to GPRS, and its still not working, so im not sure what is happening here

Yes maybe a big "BUG" . Under GPRS (in NZ) any APN will work without an Iphone specific one (except www.iphone-vodafone.co.nz which needs a Iphone plan is needed) without a dataplan (including a blank one). so maybe after upgrading it will put the APN settings in a Strange way so ii is blank (and data works)

Under 3G you need to actually specific a valid APN.

indeed, and could be quite costly, my usage meter on the iphone now shows 22.8 meg of data used today

I called the iPhone helpdesk but they are not aware of this issue, and was the "first one to call in about this"

I recently sold my 1st generation iphone ver 1.1.4 and the purchaser asked if I could update it to 2.0.1 not 2.0.2.  The phone has been updated in the past when I sync the phone but when I go to settings /general/about,  the version is  1.1.4.  What do I need to do to update to 2.0.1?   Is this advisable.   The phone as not been unlocked or jail broken, but he did not ask me to do this.  Also, how do I erase all of my data/files before sending

I noticed that the Update All button seems to have vanished from the Updates tab of the AppStore once I upgraded to 2.0.2

have you got more than 1 app in the Update tab after upgrading to 2.0.2?

I have.

5 of them (for example right now)

Now I have to touch AppStore, touch Update, touch each app name individually, touch Install and then put my iTunes password in, for each App

FFS

If thats not a step backwards for an upgrade, I don't know what is

If thats the case then thats more of an Apple workaround for another bug than a bug in itself.

I found performing an update all would ALWAYS crash my phone when it went to updating the next app.

So by removing the button, they might be removing one form of crash until it can be fixed in a later update.

Interestingly enough, Update All has never crashed for me and I've got about 5-6 pages of Apps installed

drdanick: Great. Now I have to sit through another 2 hour backup. This better be worth it...
Why it takes an iPhone so long to Sync.

I think you'll find that you have to hold the home button then 'tap' the sleep button, not hold them together.

FYI to others reading, just used QuickPwn on my iPhone 3G that was upgraded to 2.0.2 (via iTunes) - jailbreaks without having to "pwn" the firmware then restore again - no data wiped and im now jailbroken again :)

Has anyone else had problems with Google Maps after updating to 2.0.2?
I haven't been able to use it at all since updating, crashes on opening.
