they're probably just migrating people back to the normal BNG, and doing groups of customers rather than everyone at once.

Is that a good sign for this thread? Does that mean the issues we have been having should in theory be resolved if they are going back to the normal BGN?
ar0r: International traffic download on torrents tonight continued to be <2KB/sec during peak hours, which started about a week ago (probably started to notice serious throttling a week and a half ago?). Someone else mentioned also observing peer to peer heavily throttled. Haven't done any testing on non-p2p traffic yet, general web surfing has been OK but youtube has always been aweful with Orcon for me. Had my fingers crossed that it will magically fix itself but might need to post some speed tests.
I'm still trying to get my head around throttling and shaping. For example, I'm downloading data on Steam from the Orcon server and yet I observe massive shaping. Steam reports up to 1.8MB/sec and then all the way down to 0KB/sec and then up and then down again. Same shaping on p2p too. What's the purpose of shaping Steam traffic like this? Why can't we just have decent internet, I feel like we pay enough for it.
MadEngineer: Ours improved after the outage the other day as mentioned a page or so back. We had to restart our genius for the connection to come back up.
Did you also get such an outage? Maybe you need to manually restart your connection for any improvements to apply?
