MissyMoo: Haha sorry! Deleted them
OK well, I have a bit of a conundrum. My phone was organized through Digital Mobile (Vodafone) but I am leaving for Spain/Germany for 2 weeks on Thursday AM first thing.
I also have had my phone just reboot itself 4 times in the past 5 days.
It's a business device, and I rely on it entirely.
Is it just if it charges wirelessly or is it any kind of charging? I can avoid charging it when I am not attending to it, but a J5 wouldn't be a suitable replacement even temporarily.

Actually it may not be exclusive to charging at all. Although a number of incidents have been while phone is on charge, this may be because of added heat that happens while charging. But the battery defect may happen outside charging.
Theres no garentees. But the chance it happens to you is very small, i would at your best chance, exchange the phone. But would not rush into it if you depend on it, if it flames, so what just return it. As long as your not hurt that is.
Ok well, I am worried about liability whilst I am overseas. If I burnt down a hotel or something! (Extreme worst case scenario). Since there are no cases in this part of the world it's probably an unnecessary concern but still!
I am worried about the random rebooting, I'd be pretty screwed if it died totally whilst overseas.
Even if VF replaced it tomorrow, are they categorically saying it's a device not affected by the battery, or is it only on devices which will arrive in a few weeks?
DANOFDANGER: Phone fires are not unheard of, but if you have it on hand. All the time, it would never happen. But yea there's always a risk.
Your phone rebooting is unrelated to battery and is either software or defective hardware. Perhaps related to the bootloop problems people have been having due to quality control issues with defective ram.
Well I am not so worried about anything while I am awake, but while I sleep.. I guess I just charge it in the bathtub :)
Hmm well I'd be inclined to say the phone reboots when it's under load. Could be memory. Is there a test for the memory I can run?
I wondered if it was a SD Card issue.
@networkn: Or if it flamed while you are on a plane?
Out of interest - what is about the J5 that would make it unsuitable while you're away? If you could press the J5 into service at a pinch, there's your answer. Sorry if I'm second-guessing you.
Sometimes I just sit and think. Other times I just sit.

This is interesting stuff.
I'm waiting for the Apple announcement to see whether the iPhone 7 will be enough to keep me from moving to the Note 7 but whatever I do, I will be waiting until this battery thing is sorted!

Well, I am impressed. My account manager replied after hours and told me to go to any DM VF store and they would replace it on the spot or courier a replacement from another store so I can head away with a new phone.
I am just wondering though, will the replacement be from the "new and improved" stock?

Interesting. Is this just to solve the boot loop issue - and then you'll need to exchange that phone when you return to solve the battery issue? (Genuine question).
Edit: After seeing Dan's comment above, it may be that DM/VF are taking a bit of a risk here - issuing another N7 (assuming that's what they are going to give you) while the withdrawal/halt is still in effect and before certified OK phones are available. I wonder what Samsung would think of this.
