MissyMoo: Lilly I still have mine but I'm going to take it in for a full refund this week.
Glad to know I'm not the only one! Just haven't had a chance to do anything about it.
Yeah I still have mine and am using it daily, maybe not so smart but its a great phone. I just make sure when I charge it, its only until its full and then unplug it, and generally charge it during the day not when Im sleeping.
Yup that is exactly what I am doing too. Now seriously considering going back to iPhone. Such a pain having to deal with all of this.
Yeah def a pain in the a** dealing with it, however the fact they are replacing as soon as stock is availbale I think is great... Extra bonus for me, my Note 7 fell out of my pocket and has a tiny crack on the top right. Shame it happened to the phone that they are going to replace.
I thought of going back to my iphone or even the new iphone instead, however I am of the opinion that Apple dont deserve my business at present, there isnt really enough innovation in their new product to warrant going back... And I was a apple fanboy for many many years...
Only my opinion tho.
It's all put me off. I've pre-ordered iPhone now. I love both phones but this has annoyed me. What's to say the next one won't be dodgy too?
MissyMoo: I still have fast charge enabled. Thinking of returning it either today or Thursday. Samsung has not notified me to turn the device off and not use it. I've only read this online (and not from samsung)
really? i've had 2x sms from Spark saying about the situation and 2x push notifications on my phone from Samsung.

What's to say the iphone wont have any dodgy issues either?

Absolutely nothing.
Just stick around a little longer ... Once the Note 7 is replaced.. you wont regret waiting for it

That's what I am hoping!

ibuksh: Samsung Australia has given a date of 21st September. Given that the device launched in both the countries at the same time we should be getting pickup replacement notifications around the same time as well
I wonder how long until we can actually place orders for new units?

MissyMoo: Ugh I cant even quote! Multiple times I've clicked on "view in full geekzone eebsite" and multiple times I've relogged back in and it still doesnt work.
I have received voluntary recall notifications but NONE of them have stated to turn the device off and return immediately...
well here it is:
"“Samsung continues to ensure that consumer safety remains our top priority. We are asking users to power down their Galaxy Note7s and exchange them now.” says Tim Baxter, president of Samsung Electronics America. “New Note7 replacement devices will be issued to exchange program participants upon completion of the CPSC process. In the interim, consumers can return their Note7 for another device.”

This says owners will get an exchange upon completion of the CPSC process - hopefully applies only in the US and that other parts of the world will get fresh phones sooner than that. That CPSC process could take ages.
Sometimes I just sit and think. Other times I just sit.

That Samsung link doesn't appear to work.

The U.S. Note7 Exchange Program offers consumers the following choices:
Exchange current Galaxy Note7 device with a new Galaxy Note7 (pending CPSC approval).
Exchange current Galaxy Note7 for a Galaxy S7 or Galaxy S7 edge and replacement of any Note7 specific accessories with a refund of the price difference between devices.
Select carrier and retail outlets will also provide customers, who prefer a replacement Note7, with a Samsung loaner phone to use until new Note7s are available.
Additionally, participants in the U.S. exchange program will receive a $25 gift card or bill credit from select carrier or retail outlets.
“Our collaboration with the CPSC, carrier partners, and via our own communication channels is aimed at ensuring all Note7 users are aware of the issue and understand their options,” adds Baxter.
The terms of the CPSC approved recall will be announced as they are available.
