Curious to know people's opinions between the two routers.

I live in an apartment and have approximately 31 devices (various stuff including smart home gear).  I don't need mesh capabilities and currently on the 900/500 plan.

I've read about the orbi and 25 device limit but not sure if that is just an optimal number for active clients or if there is a hard limit.

Thoughts?

Fritz all the way. The Orbi is limited on wifi - presents both 2k and 5.4K as a single ssid which can be problematic. The Fritz is a solid piece of equipment - best I’ve had from an isp. My Orbi bill soon be sold off.

Fritz would be an obvious choice if you don't need mesh.

I've never used an Orbi, but I have an average sized house with plenty of device including smart devices and the Fritz 7590 works well for me.
