So according to the telecom website i'm suppose to get around 11-13mbps in my area, but have never had anything better than 4-5mbps.
My modem is a Linksys WAG200-g with the following stats:
DSL Status:
Connected DSL Modulation Mode: ADSL2+
DSL Path Mode: Fast
Downstream Rate: 5033 kbps
Upstream Rate: 917 kbps
Downstream Margin: 6 db
Upstream Margin: 12 db
Downstream Line Attenuation: 42 db
Upstream Line Attenuation: 11 db
Downstream Transmit Power: 12 db
Upstream Transmit Power: 20 db
According to google results, I should be getting up to a maximum of 7.5-8mps with that Line attenuation. Ive tried a different modem with the same results. As for the wiring in the house, There's two lines connected together to a small white box in the roof. Each line branches off and goes to a different phone jack, one for the phone and one for the modem. IS there anything I can try to improve my speed? Master splitter/ filter? Any advice appreciated.
