What ports did you forward? Did you ensure you used UDP or TCP+UDP and not just TCP?

Actually I forwared following UDP ports (those are listed in Voipchip.com).
UDP 5060
UDP 11113
UDP 10300 - 10311
UDP 6901 - 6920

Thanks.

If you are using your SIP providers STUN server then I don't think you need to open any ports in the router. If your provider is voipcheap.com (rather than voipchip.com) then try stun.voipcheap.com.

Cheers Mike

Thanks Mike. Sorry I made a spelling mistake. Actually, my provider is voipcheap.com. Could you send me some instructions on how to set-up STUN server?

There is a menu option in the device (sorry been a long time since I played with one) for a STUN server. Enter

stun.voipcheap.com

And from memory you also have to click on YES | NO next to the STUN settings (obviously you want to select yes)

Lion, the setting is precisely as sbiddle has defined it. You may have to hunt around in the http pages for the HT486 but it will be obvious when you see it.

Cheers Mike

Move to New Zealand's best fibre broadband service (affiliate link). Free setup code: R587125ERQ6VE. Note that to use Quic Broadband you must be comfortable with configuring your own router.
