Hi guys, I am new on here and seem to be having very similar problem to the guys on the previous post: http://www.geekzone.co.nz/forums.asp?ForumId=8&TopicId=243

I have followed al of the instruction to the letter and my network log states:

Hi there and thanks for replying. Yes that is the script I have been using. Im using a Tungsten T5 connecting to an XP laptop using a Belkin BT device. When I click web the connection is successful but I receive a 'Cannot find page' sign. The Network log means nothing to me, any ideas?

It sounds as there is a personal firewall software on your desktop blocking this connection.

There isn't a firewall on the laptop, however, I'm using a wireless network to receive my internet connection. Could this be blocking it?

No, the network doesn't really matter. On your PC, open the properties for the Bluetooth Network adapter and change the settings to have a DNS server. Use your ISP's one - you can find the correct IP by running a command prompt on your PC and issuing the command IPCONFIG /ALL.

Hi there, thanks for replying as I appreciate it. I'm sure you know how frustrating it can be. I have done what you say (ipconfig /all) and the command box flashes up and then disappears within half a second. Any ideas?

Run CMD, and from the command box you run IPCONFIG /ALL... To exit, well, type EXIT.

Due to constraints on my network configuration I opted for using Softick PPP (http://www.softick.com/ppp/), it does come at a cost but makes the whole process quite painless and does not require IP or script configuration on either the PC nor Palm device.

ps. I have only proven it for these configs:

T3 <-BT 1.1-> CSR BlueCore 02 <-USB-> PC <-ethernet-> router
T3 <-BT 1.2-> Sony Vaio (integrated) <-WiFi-> router

Hi, I have done as you said but the command box just flashes up for half a second then vanishes. I can't make it stay open so I can read the ip config. Any ideas on making this happen?

Yes, but you shouldn't need to. Just copy the DNS addresses into the appropriate fields on your Bluetooth adapter TCP/IP configuration (the to part of the ICS).

Please, please, please let there be someone out there that can help me. I have listed all the settings above, but no matter how much I read on this subject on this forum I still can't get it to work. I don't have a firewall, windows firewall is switched off on our server (temp) I have entered the correct script, even though I'm on a T5 which shouldn't need it.

Hope someone can help!

Are you using a Widcomm based Bluetooth dongle? If yes, is the Network service configured as this image below?

Have you entered 10.10.44.1 as the DNS server on the Bluetooth Network adapter (not on the LAN connection facing the Internet, not on your Palm, but on the the virtual LAN adapter created when Bluetooth was installed)?

Have you unchecked the option to use a secure connection?
