Hi guys,

Since I've been on 2degrees (March), i have not been able to receive texts from Vodafone mobiles.

I had my number ported from Telecom to 2D. I've tried ringing up 2degres awhile back and they said they would get back to me about this technical issue. Still no reply after a few months. It didn't really bug me as i could talk to most of my vodafone friends on WhatsApp. Now i just want the matter resolved.

I have read on the forums awhile back of some people having the same problem. Something to do with a porting issue?

Was wondering how to sort this issue out. Any assistance to resolving this problem would be much appreciated.

Regards,

Billy

I prefer to have my existing number as it would be of an inconvenience and too much hassle to switch.

I'm sure there are people on here who have successfully ported their 027 numbers to 2D?

2D will need to contact Vodafone and check the routing for the 021 number

The ported number came from Telecom 027 if that's what you're meaning?

John is correct. Contact 2degrees, they should contact your previous provider and update everything.

Oh sweet, so the entire porting system will be fixed?
There is a pretty big issue with ported numbers and text.

No it not a big issue at all if you consider all the ported numbers between carriers and single number issues are very simple to resolve

+1 johnr.  If porting was fundamentally broken then the Commerce Commission would be waving around it's big stick. 99% of the ports go through smoothly.  But problems sometimes happen with a number.

So either you contact 2Degrees, or your friend on Vodafone logs a call with Vodafone.

Or better yet, do both.  And it will get sorted.
