I purchased the Glo remote from Amazon.com. The remote was US$41.91 (NZ$60.35) and the shipping was NZ$51.81.
Total cost was therefore NZ$112.16.
The remote is such a significantly better product I am happy with having paid that much for it.
Standard Remote, left, Glo Remote right.

Form Factor:
Glo remote is almost exactly the same length and width as standard remote.
Glo remote is more curvaceous, and is noticeably slimmer around the waist.

Rear end of Glo remote is slightly taller than standard remote due to battery configuration. (4xAAA batteries)
Underside of remote has corrugated lines along rear half.
Chrome rim fits perfectly, very small tolerances between gloss plastic cover and chrome rim.
Buttons:
Buttons look similar at first glance, but they are far superior.
Button layout is slightly different. SELECT button is inside the circular directional arrow buttons, as opposed to below on standard remote.
VOLUME and CHAN/PAGE buttons are above the THUMBS UP and THUMBS DOWN buttons, opposite to standard remote.
The buttons are well sculpted, for example the PAUSE and REC buttons are concave, the shape has obviously been carefully considered, it is easy to identify these buttons without looking.
I've noted that there's almost no text printed on the remote surface itself, almost all text is on the buttons. Standard remote has much text printed on the body. The printing on Glo remote looks superior too, it is finer and more detailed, and brighter white in colour.
I also noted that the THUMBS UP and THUMBS DOWN button do not have the ® logo. Weird!
However most importantly the button mechanism is vasty better. The buttons themselves only depress about 1mm, and there is a click when button is pressed. The buttons travel is much less, and it is easier to press the button several times in quick succession.
The buttons are made of a firmer feeling rubber, and the is almost no horizontal wiggle of the buttons at all.
Build Quality and overall impressions.
The build quality is excellent, the tolerances between the chrome rim, top surface and main body are very close and well fitting.
The backlight functions works very well, and only when the ambient light level is low. The SELECT and directional arrow buttons are the brightest, the numeric buttons are much less bright. The TiVo button illuminates white instead of orange like the other buttons.

The remote is very comfortable to hold, and feels well balanced when held around the waist.
So to sum up;
Excellent build quality, much better buttons, better button layout, backlit buttons, better balance and feel. Looks much sharper!
I would recommend to TiVo enthusiasts, particularly if like me, your TiVo remote is now your "primary" remote.
Well that's probably enough information for anyone!
Cheers,
Joseph
