Hi a dealer has brought this car at a auction and I was looking to buy it before it lands. It's a bit of a long shot but can anyone translate the bits in pink?

Thanks :D

Have you tried the google translate app? You can take a photo and it scans the image for characters and translates. I've tried this with Japanese and it worked well.

Yeah I have but I don't think it's quite neat enough for it to pick it up

It's easy katakana so I'll have a go! Give me 10mins :-)

Okay, so what I can read from the box on the left I don't really understand because my Japanese is kinda rusty, also it's too small to read easily.

The box on the right however:
ナビ - Navigation Unit (Useless in NZ)
フルセグ Full segment (A type of in car TV, also useless here)
バックカメラ Reversing Camera
ETC is a built in toll-gate paying function (also useless here)

Hope that helps!

Cool, thanks for that.

Good to know none of the features will work here :D

*It looks like Godzilla, but due to international copyright laws - it's not.

I started picking up Japanese by myself again after not using it for over a decade, so while I can read, I can't give a full translation.

Here are the mostly complete copies of the two highlighted areas, which may be useful for you or others to then translate:

[Right]
-- セールスポイント
ナビ (NHZN-W61G)
フルセグ
バックカメラ
ETC

[Left]
-- <Most of title too hard to decipher into a useful sentence, but it probably doesn't matter>
スタットレスタイヤ 社外アルミ付
純正アルミセット室内

保、車取、ナビ取、キー1ヶ 後日

-- ◎検査員報告(USS使用?)
ハンドルスレ
ルーム丸ラス汚し
下迴リノ部サビ
<Last line is awful...>

(Unknowns are bolded/italicised)

(Edited to bold rather than underline)

Thanks for that :D

So far I've managed to get the translation down to something along the lines of...

For the left pink box, in the top half I have

  1. studless/no nail anti skid tire, not-genuine aluminium.
  2. Inside the car it is a pure aluminium frame
  3. Insurance - car, navigation, and key, should be included. Get day after tomorrow.

In the bottom half

  1. abraded wheel (I think it's talking about the steering wheel)?
  2. Dirt or stain inside
  3. Something under the car? Paint or Rust?
  4. Something about a scratch, it's hard to make out

The part I really want to confirm is 1. and 3. on the bottom half.

Line 1 reads "Handle [su re]", where "スレ" most likely is 擦れ or rub/abrade, so I would agree with you. The "handle" is definitely the steering wheel in this case.

Line 3 reads "Lower [part] rust" which considering the context of the report, is rust associated with the part. The part refers to something that turns/revolves (廻), but as I posted earlier, I can't tell what it is. The "lower" may refer to the overall location (of the car or general region where the part would be a component of) or the part itself, but that is dependent on context. (I'm swaying more to the former.)

Considering that the bottom half is the more important part (inspection report) I'd make sure you definitely get firmer answers than mine!

(Corrected latter -> former, but still make a check!)

Actually I think I can revise my Bottom half, Line 3 copy:

下廻りの部サビ which actually more refers to "rust around lower area" or probably "rust on underside". It's very open-ended as to what that means, so you probably need to get someone to check where.

(The weird handwriting confused me for a bit, even though I typed it out first time round, just in a different script!)
