The US pulling out of the Iran deal is just a fabricated crisis to justify themselves. More liars and crooks.

“Mr. President, how does this America safer?” she said. “How does this make American safer?”

“This will make America much safer,” he said, before getting up for the table on which he signed the memorandum.

Iran

I have no issue that he dropped out. The US isnt the god of the world. They have already lost grip on NK, now with Iran. Iran "seems" to be playing ball. Europe and everyone else can stay on the deal. Another exit stage left, USA. That is not a bad thing. Id rather have a few big brothers managing issues than one BIG BROTHER. Maybe in a few years we will still downplay Trump, but his actions that reduce the US global influence may be a good thing

Part of the US action in dropping out of the deal is that the US will sanction any company that continues to trade with Iran, regardless of where they're from.

what Trump did really matters:

Iran's President Hassan Rouhani said: "The US has announced that it doesn't respect its commitments.

"I have ordered the Atomic Energy Organisation of Iran to be ready for action if needed, so that if necessary we can resume our enrichment on an industrial level without any limitations."

Boom.

https://www.theguardian.com/world/2018/may/08/obama-iran-nuclear-deal-democrats-republicans-reaction

“In a democracy, there will always be changes in policies and priorities from one Administration to the next. But the consistent flouting of agreements that our country is a party to risks eroding America’s credibility, and puts us at odds with the world’s major powers,” Obama said.

Since leaving the White House, Obama has responded to only a handful of Trump’s policy decisions, including his travel ban on several Muslim-majority countries, decision to pull the US from the Paris climate accord, and move to rescind protections to young, undocumented immigrants.

In line with previous comments, Obama did not mention his successor by name. Much of the former president’s statement instead sought to clarify the facts surrounding the Iran deal and its terms, while insisting that the accord was working.

“I believe that the decision to put the JCPOA at risk without any Iranian violation of the deal is a serious mistake,” Obama said.

“The United States could eventually be left with a losing choice between a nuclear-armed Iran or another war in the Middle East.”

Obama’s concerns were echoed by John Kerry, the former secretary of state, who led US negotiations of the accord.

Kerry said Trump’s decision “breaks America’s word” and expressed hope the deal could continue without America.

“Instead of building on unprecedented nonproliferation verification measures, this decision risks throwing them away and dragging the world back to the brink we faced a few years ago,” Kerry said.

“America should never have to outsource those stakes to any other country,” he added. “This is not in America’s interests. We should all hope the world can preserve the nuclear agreement.”

When discussing this today with friends - they suggested that Iran self monitored and reported accordingly? I find that a bit hard to believe.

The IAEA now has the world’s most robust verification regime in place in Iran. We have had access to all the locations that we needed to visit.

Our inspection work has doubled since 2013. IAEA inspectors now spend 3,000 calendar days per year on the ground in Iran. We have installed some 2,000 tamper-proof seals on nuclear material and equipment.

Make it more isolated, thats a good thing. The world will move to a state where the US isnt the be all and end all.

They are taking a hard line on trade, does this extra really matter? It will be a problem, but traders will seek help from themselves, leaving the US to Buy American, good luck with the ticket prices for its citizens.

The Iran response is probably for? A threat? But they seem to buy into an agreement. Note that I'm not into Iran, knowledge wise, but on first looks they seem to be cooperating.

If I might be trite we have almost zero impact on American, Russian or Chinese governments.

However of the three, the Chinese are predictable and less rash. We're much less likely to be caught off-guard by the Chinese than the Russians and Americans.

Since we're faced with three potential enemies, our best bet is to play one against the other.

"Keep your friends close and your enemies closer"

We can't win through numbers against any world power. We can win through good press, and popular support, and through them have some political influence.

We should never make the mistake of considering any world power as our friends though

CNN - Everything scrapping the Iran deal says about Donald Trump

Washington (CNN)  Donald Trump's exit from the Iran nuclear deal was one of the most significant moments of his presidency - and cemented a sharp turn in decades of US foreign policy orthodoxy.

It also opened a new window into Trump's political soul, showing his willingness to unleash the kind of chaos abroad he has fomented at home.

The decision added context to his "America First" foreign policy doctrine and showed he is adamant about following through on campaign promises that horrified America's allies.

And it revealed two other pillars of the Trump presidency - a propensity to turn even the most crucial moments into a global televised drama, and his ravenous desire to eradicate President Barack Obama from the history books.

The Iran fiasco shows clearly that NZ needs to distance itself from the US atleast until Trump is out of office which is probably in six years.

Here is a crazy notion, lets give peace a chance.

Yes, and that applies to the rest or the world too. Trade tariffs will help that along as us normal countries work together to forge new trade alliances. The interesting thing will be what Trump does when other countries accept they move out of Iran dealings and manage it themselves, all while he tries to penalise Iran, while other countries are offering support to Iran if they continue to abide by the deal.
