Just thought I'd update you with my progress on moving house with Fusion. Previously, I posted regarding moving to a house which is currently connected to telstraclear's phone service (both telecom and telstraclear have phone lines on to the property). Where the line comes into the house, either the telecom, or Telstraclear's line is connected to the property.
Anyway - the story so far...
A couple of weeks ago, I rang and advised xnet that I wanted to move address, and, could I have the service moved on Friday the 12th. This was agreed with.

On Friday the 12, received an email advising that the RFS date would be Monday, the 16th/PM. I had given them a couple of weeks to organise the changeover, so, I was a little disappointed that we would be without a phone / internet over the weekend. I like to think that that was caused by Telecom :-)
Last night, tried to connect to the internet - no adsl yet. Went outside, looked up, and the lines into the house had not been switched over.
Rang Xnet last night, after the ~15 minute wait to talk to somebody, was advised that yes, someone would have to be sent out to swap the lines over, and, that I would be rung when that would be done. Also, that it could be 2-3 days. The CSR was courteous, and realised what I was talking about quickly. Have not heard from Worldxchange / Chorus when this will be though.
Unfortunately, even though there was ample notice of the requested move, it is looking like we will be without phone / internet for a week, which is not going down too well with the other half...
Not sure whether there will be an additional charge, over the $85 charge for moving houses, to cover the technician coming out to swap the lines over. I have not been advised of any additional charge, but, I haven't received the phone call advising a time that this will occur. Will update this thread once I receive that call.
So - if you are moving to a house, that is currently connected with TelstraClear, be careful, as, Telecom does not seem to know if this is the case.
As a side note, It's quite frustrating looking up at the connection to the house, looking at the telecom provided line knowing that there should be a fully functional ADSL connection available on the line, if only you were allowed to just swap the line over yourself...
