I'm furious. This has happened on my computer, and I just can't wait until tomorrow morning when I get a 1000 phones calls about this.
Microsoft have "fixed" the issue, but the fix doesn't restore all the shortcuts it deleted. An Office repair put the office ones back, but many apps I've had to fully uninstall and reinstall just to get the start menu icon back (even a repair or install "over the top" didn't work).
This is absolutely fricking ridiculous.
