I saw a few threads about monthly home internet usage but its a few years old and thought I should start a new thread to see if anyone who has posted in the previous threads have notice they used a lot more internet than previously.

Can you also state what speed tier you have, amount of gigabytes/terabytes you use monthly and what you use it for.

I’ll start
• Fibre 300 plan
• Average between 2.5-3TB monthly
• Streaming videos and tv shows, Live TV, social media, video/audio calls & backups to the cloud

Gigabit plan
Anywhere from 2-5TB monthly
Streaming anything and everything
Gaming
Home server running various services inc remote backups for friends and 24/7 "radio" (https://www.xpd.co.nz/radio/)

Devices connected are 4 phones, 2 desktop PC's, 4 laptops, Xbox, PS3, TV, tablet, server (old desktop), Linux box (old SFF HP)

Think thats it.......

So yes, using a LOT more :D Considering I was surviving on 5Gb monthly about 7 years ago ;)

Anywhere from 2-5TB monthly but my uploads and downloads are pretty much the same, not sure why my uploads are so high as i dont use the cloud but i cant be bothered to find out. Streaming, gaming over 4 desktops , phones and 1 laptops.

Common sense is not as common as you think.

I'm on rural WISP, 30 mbps down, fibre not available. Not a gamer and the only Internet user so capacity is adequate for my needs. I stream all TV but do not do much beyond that, around 400-500 GB monthly. Fortunately what I have works well for me so I don't feel deprived.

Why would they do that? 13TB/month is only about 40Mbps continuous, 24x7, even while you sleep.

I consider myself a very heavy user, WFH, stream lots (often multiple things at once - like multiple sports), offsite continuous backups but minimal downloading of TV/Movies (streaming is just way more convenient) and I'm on FibreMax - I do about 1-2TB / month.

I was using 90-100GB/month during the F1 season, up to 140Gb if there were four F1 Grand Prix during a month.
Now that F1 is back on Sky, I'm extremely unlikely to exceed the 60GB/month base of the Spark Unplan

typical usage: 500GB per month

max usage: 1TB per month

I know in the past they use to have a fair use policy on their unlimited plans but from what you said I’m guessing they got rid of it.

Somewhere between 300-500GB a month. Household of 2 adults (one frequently WFH), 2 children with their own devices. Fibre 300 plan, provider is Spark.

My usage is really sporadic. Some months I can use more than 1 TB, meanwhile last month I used 60 GB... and I've used another 60 GB so far this month and we're only on day five. I'm glad that I have a flat-rate plan or I'd actually have to think about what I'm doing with it :)

I'm on a Gigabit plan just because I can. I have no idea what my current usage is, as long as my ISP doesn't cute me off or throttle me for breach of fair use then I really don't care.
