Never used them, but because they are a 2nd hand dealer (basically), Id be wary of warranty issues etc.

Friend bought a cheap HP all in one from those guys but I think it was thru trademe.

Dire slow horrid piece of crap, but thats not PTLs fault, its just what you get on something so low specced. No need for any after sales support so cant comment on that but they got what they paid for

I've looked at buying from them on Trade Me but never have just because I got a better deal elsewhere.

Their feedback is pretty good considering the nature of their business where people are looking for cheap bargains. Possible negatives: English isn't their primary language; They don't give any feedback which makes it harder to understand what went wrong with the trades that have negative feedback.

hundreds of dollars ???

buy ex lease ?
take the chance , dont complain if there are some 'issues' :-)

Ive seen some truely horrid ex-lease PC's , and some that are still running after many years . Factor that into the price, its a crap shot .
Also , be aware of non standard parts in brand name PC's , so even a power supply replacement could cost more than what you paid for the PC

also, ex lease or used often means a blank HD, or incomplete Win setup (missing drivers etc)
Some ex lease have no COA , so no Win lic.

assuming youre looking at a used system.....

We used them for years and years. No problems whatsoever and when we had occasional faulty equipment, it was fixed pretty fast. Probably spent upwards of $30,000+ there. They have a retail store which you can walk into down in Glenfield if you wanted to inspect before you buy.

We've used them for years too for $100k+ worth of gear. They're pretty good but their TradeMe prices aren't hugely competitive.

I have used them several times over the years.

Laptops, desktops, servers (rack units) and odds and ends.

Never been disappointed.

Sometimes, the pricing is unrealistic but that's when I do not shop there. I have always felt that I was getting a good deal when I went there.

Thanks all to those with helpful comments.

I went through with this after hearing this feedback and so far have had a good experience. I ordered on Friday afternoon and if the courier company had actually bothered to knock on the door instead of just dropping a card and running I would have had the computer the very next morning (I am in Hawkes Bay).

I got exactly what I paid for and no more, I had done my research and knew what I wanted and needed so all good. I now have a very respectable PC.

After sales, warranty claims etc I hope I won't have to find out about.

Cheers
