Does anyone know an app that will tell you what freq it is connected at for UMTS?

Would like to know when I'm in 900mhz freq and 2100mhz.

I don't believe the Nokia API actually makes this information available so common programs such as Celltrack can't tell you the frequency, just the CellID.

There will be very few places where 2100 and 900 coverage overlaps anyway so if you get 3G coverage where you din't before you can virtually guarantee it'll be 900.

If you start mapping the CellID's you'll know what cellsite you're getting coverage from anyway..

That is true that is what I'm noticing, a lot more 3g coverage with the e71.

Being geeky is what it is all about.

That was a very cool feature. Expecially since it could also show nearby cells.

Yes there are official s60v2 and s60v3 applications out there. "beetle" and "Ladybug"

Search around, you should come across some stuff I won't go there because it looks like path better not trodden.

I just installed "Celltrack91" on my phone after removing the signing with hellocarbide, works well but is a bit basic and won't of course show the frequency used.

If you look at flickr user james pole there is a plethora of cellsite pictures you could install so thay show too and if you can get the cellID's you could put "UMTS900" or similar text over the respective images.
