Meh, 12 years of Mac ownership, a few warranty claims along the way, no issues here.
I watch a lot of his videos.
Yeah Apple are absolute dogs and are screwing the consumers.
Oh yah, Just google this: "list of largest companies by net worth"
xpd:
dfnt: More like pure click bait thread..
Can’t be bothered watching the video to find out why, perhaps you can allude to what the 90 second repair is?
Took Mac Book with no backlight to Apple store, got quoted $1200+ repair.
Took it to "Rossmann" who fixed it in 90s by actually looking at the fault and found a dodgy pin - bent back into place and working. Said normally would charge $0 for that sort of repair, but if owner wanted 100% fix, then would be upto $150 to replace part.
This is the difference between "Board" repair and component repair.
I was told by an American Service tech who I was doing a ride along with that it works like this in the US corporate world
$1500 board +$100 labour looks a LOT better than $10 (parts) + $800 Labour.
A new board may well have be updated and removed hardware bugs, there would be no downstream damage to other components and so should be more reliable.
Me, I repair the boards. Often replaced a shorted cap or open resistor for 20 cents and saved work $2000.
I even track down the OEMs, had a variable speed motor drive board (specialist application), new controller was $6000 , a factory refurbished unit was US$600 including shipping back to NZ, complete with 1 year warranty.
Apple only allows for Board swapping, Rossman does component repair.

Yup. Rossman's clickbait titles are based on false equivalency. I can't blame him for that if he's trying to make money from YouTube. His content is largely decent quality, but he does get carried away with disingenuous rants regularly.
