Having been a happy Orcon costumer for several years I decided to sign up for Orcon Genius.
Within 24 hours the moden and handset were delivered.

I opened the box, hoping to find information, manuals or anyhting that could help me setting it up, but there was nothing in there. I turned to the website, but was not able to locate any information.
Finally I called the technical help line. As usual they were friendly , patient, and helpful.
They explained that I had to wait for the e-mail confirming my connection. 5 days became a week, one week became two weeks, two weeks became three weeks, but no e-mail. By then I had no landline, and no internet. In the fourth week the first bill arrived, detailing calls and ansd internet usage ????

I called the technical team, who conmfirmed I could now go aheasd and setup my phone and internet. (the promisssed e-mail had still NOT arrived). I followed the intructions to the letter.  The quality of the phone line was so poor, even the staff fronm the helpline admitted that they could hardly hear me.
My internet had slowed down to all but a grinding halt, on sveral occasions it took 90 minutes for the google page to load.

Of course this was not what I expected when I signed up for their genius plan. I refused to pay the bill for services I had not been provided with. The accounts department made no problems and gracefully cancelled the bill. I decided to back to the plan I had before Genius. It took many calls and hours of waiting on the helpline, but I am now back to my old plan. My landline works fine. My internet is back to it's blistering speed.

I have put the Genius back in the box. It was useless.

Was there any troubleshooting performed ?
Removed any/all filters ? Sky ?

Sounds odd that you get full speed normally, then soon as Genius is enabled it falls over :-/

Thank god I left the Orcon CS team before they released Genius and turned themselves into another Woosh.

Please keep on topic - this is not an ISP bashing thread.
