Yes looks like they removed the "TV" part from the page title on their website too. I had it bookmarked as skytv.co.nz, which now directs to sky.co.nz.

I'd rather watch sport in HD than eat Ice Cream.

Each to their own.

I didn't love paying it, but in my view it was an essential addon, may as well not bother.

For me too - I wouldn't have got it, even on the cheap deal, without HD. That was really the biggest drawcard.

It's funny how people don't break down the cost to a day level. 2 examples, skytv @ $50 a month (50 / 30 days) = 1.66 a day. Where else can you find entertainment for that price each day. I was the same for spotify until i worked it out at 50 cents a day for unlimited music which I use for more than 2 hours a day each day (gym and traveling).

Just don't do it for your rent or mortgage if you live in auckland lol :P

Yes - I've listened to the school Mum's (and a few Dad's) pile in to a local café every day and gulp down $5 latte's while complaining about the price of Sky, power, fuel etc. Humans are not good at making rational decisions.

Skytv = $1.66 per day (for a mix of SD and HD on max 2 devices - one TV and one computer/tablet)

Freeview + Netflix = $0.63 per day (for a mix of 4K and HD on up to any four devices simultaneously).

With Netflix I get higher quality entertainment, plus I can pick up a couple of extra long blacks every week from my favourite cafe and still be in the money (-;

You put Freeview + Netflix which looks better but Sky has Freeview. ComCom would take a dim view of misleading. :-)

Yes, SD/HD Sky doesnt fare as well. But I would prefer a program I want to watch being in SD/HD rather than what I dont want to watch being in 4k

Higher quality? That's pretty objective. If you only want to watch TV series and moves, yes it will be higher quality as it is higher quantity so you are bound to get more cool shows. Those of us that want to watch quality documentaries will get a bare cupboard on Netflix. I googled that, looked at the top doco's, its rubbish. There is the odd minor gem but its rubbish pure and simple. If you want to watch news that's not FTA, such as CNN and others, Netflix wont help

Sky isnt a movie and TV series provider, Netflix does that. Sky covers a wider genre of content, Netflix covers movies and TV series, so it depends if you are a movie/series junkie or not

Neon doesn’t compare to Netflix presentation wise, No UHD, Lack of devices including Apple TV, No Dolby Digital.

Content wise I’d rate Neon stronger in movies, and I’m not sure who’d be winning on TV series.
It’s the no DD that is the deal breaker for me on Neon.

If people spend more on coffee then Entertainment maybe they value coffee more.
