The only foreign sourced channel that Sky plays out in HD is ESPN.

From what I’ve seen the content on Rugby channel is going to be put into Sky Sports. Don’t know if it will be separate channel or in with other content.

Will save the cost for those paying for Rugby channel.

It will be no additional cost to Sport subscribers from 1 August.  Skywatch indicates its in HD from July - it hasnt been listed as HD in previous months.

In my opinion Sky  will just do what Foxtel and SKY UK have done and Split Sky/fox sports 1,2,3,4 etc into Themed channels

Sky Rugby
Sky Cricket
Sky Golf
Sky Soccer
Sky Motor Sport
Sky MIX

etc

with spillover and special events going onto popups

From what I have seen, the Rugby Channel will be cancelled in August and its programming will be absorbed by Skysport .

I aim to misbehave.

I’ve only looked at one program on Sky 5, picture was good, but sound was 2 channel Dolby digital, same as Prime HD.

Might have been the program, but I’m thinking Sky may still be doing things on the cheap.
When the time is right I’ll be getting rid of my Sky Box’s and going to superior streaming services, I don’t care if I don’t have access to all content, but like to watch content have access to in best quality.

I won’t pay for streaming services where quality is sub par either which Lightbox and Neon don’t have dd5.1

My minimum spec to pay to watch is 720p and 5.1 sound.

I know Prime HD is always 2 channel. They are sending it as a Dolby Digital Sound track, but only 2 channels of audio is being transmitted, with work being done by amp to split sound out.
