Hello Slam-er,

I made files .SEQ with Multimedia Conversion Studio (Alcatel) from midis source.
But when I put the files on my site I get this error: 'invalid format'.
I can browse my index.wml file but I can´t download .SEQ, .PCO, etc. files.

I could download all files from your site. Do you know what is the problem?

Thank you very much.

He says

"I see you're Argentinian, so will reply in Spanish. Have you added the MIME [types] to the server? I think this is the problem, you have to add two types: for images use "application/vnd.alcatel.colorpalette" and for ringtones "application/vnd.alcatel.SEQ" with the file type "seq". Do it for those two type and I think it should work. Ok, see you later."

MIME is an internet standar that specifies how data must be formated from one system to other... i.e. if you want to download a jpg, the web server storing the jpg file tells to your internet browser "image/jpg" or something like that, so your browser can manage correctly the received data...

our ot332 cannot handle midis, jpg or gif files, but it does with PCO and SEQ files, the problem (i think) is that your server has not the PCO and SEQ types configured so it's sendind them as plain text, the phone receives this and thinks that your are tryng to download the wrong format... to solve this you have to add those two MIME types to your web server...

well, as you can see its very hard to me writing english, i hope you understand what i want to say

MIME types are defined on your Server software. Each server software will be different. On IIS 5.0 for example there's a button that gives access to the MIME list:

Hello Slam-er.

Can I upload files to your site (wap.firestorm.net.nz) ?
Because I can't customize the MIME Types on my web hosting.

Instead of uploading files I can send you them by e-mail and you put them on-line.

Thanks.

I registered a site at wap41.com and uploaded several files of type .SEQ, .IAL, .PCO and .PIC and I could download only the .SEQ files. It didn´t recognize the other type of files.

I could download an image (.PCO) from the Slam-er site. I´d like to put some files on that server if you allow me.

Thanks to all of you again.
