richms:    How did that work for you when its not got hammer on it? IME concrete is not very stressful on a drill at all, its the large bits in wood that really stress it.

Took a bit longer than it should but it was fine.

I rate the drill. Its much better than the 18v B&D toy I had before.

The good one I have is a lcdi1802, Seems discontinued, which is annoying because I wanted to get another one to leave at my sisters place.

I must admit I am thinking the B&D seems pretty solid.

Seems almost like there is some price fixing going on between Ryobi and B&D. 1 exclusive retailer each, everything is within $5-10 of each other. You'd think they would get competitive at some stage.

I brought this one over xmas

http://ryobi.co.nz/18v-one-compact-impact-drill-kit-r18pd-ll99s

was $199 with the 2 batteries, the drill by its self was $129 and the 4Ah battery and charger was $129, and cause it also included an extra 1.5ah battery it worked out ok. Currently they have it for $259

its an extra $139 to add the line trimmer as as skin with no battery/charger

Looks nicer than the one that came in my kit - that is a RCD1802. Plastic chuck, and a different handle design. I have a feeling they change the grip pattern often to make the age of tools easily apparnt when the date sticker comes off for declining warranty.

So to confirm, this will do both drilling and impact drilling?

Bunnings dont list that one any more, and I couldnt find it when I went in and foolishly listened when they said the brushless replaced it. Which is great if you want your clutch done in software and really poor control over the speed of it.

It is a hammer drill, it is not an impact driver but any drill with a real clutch will somewhat impact drive as the clutch clicks. If you want a real impact driver it is a seperate tool and well worth it IME.

Cool and is this controlled by a switch if you just want drilling for example? Lastly is that handle on the side removable?

So many of our line trimmers over the years have ended up a tree, in flax bushes, in the rubbish bin. One was even damaged as a result of repeated um collisions with a sledge hammer. Healthier to use Round up, hot water, flame thrower, Mr Green or all of them.

Line trimmers are an evil plot by weeds as their best form of defence.

Mine works great on the lawn when its too long to mow, chop it all down, let it dry out and mow a week later and it doesnt jam up and takes less space in the catcher.

Also great around trees and stuff. Cant roundup there really.

Yah I'd say our B&D has been pretty good. I wouldn't bother with batteries, esp from aliexpress as I wouldn't know what the likelyhood of duds were.
