I cant belive this topic has came up becuase im trying to do exactly the same thing and i got exactly the same tv as zad , (uniden 32") zad if you have figured out a way to connect it please contact me
i have tryed to connect it by DVI TO HDMI but got a blank screen and gave up haha i didnt give it a big try My graphics card is a asus 7600gt if any1 can help please post!!
Hi there. I found it only worked on 1280 x 720 - or 720 x 480. I'll fill you in on the details in our private message mate, but I'll put this up in case someone else can enlighten me with my new problem. The desktop of my PC is reproduced on the TV fine at 1280 x 720, but when I watch a video/media file (which was the whole friggin idea) the video image is black on the TV!If I play Windows Media Player, the window and tool buttons appear fine, but the video content in the centre appears as a black square. Once I recorded a tv programme on my hard drive as an mpeg. When I played it back on Windows Media Player, the content was blacked out on the tv (but good on the PC monitor). Yet when I played it on PowerDVD, it appeared fine on the TV and monitor. Aargh! Something to do with the width/height, or aspect ratio? Frame rate? I don't know. Next stop, call Uniden, I think. But if anyone can shed light on this problem, please do.
I finally managed to get a decent picture on my Samsung 40" – with the correct resolution of 1360x768. Unfortunately it meant a complete re-install of windows to get it. Drivers had to be updated, latest Nvidia decoder etc etc.
My TV wouldn't accept a signal from the computer unless it was a recognised resolution – and to change the resolution I needed to get a picture on the TV – catch 22. So I had to hook them up as dual monitors and then make the TV the primary monitor which I could then change the resolution attributes for.For those that can't get a picture at all – this is probably the issue. In the end I used the VGA cables to input through the PC input on the TV – you can still get a resolution up to 1360x768 and the TV will self adjust the image to fit the screen if that option is available on your TV.If the TV is black when playing movies only then it sounds like a driver issue – obviously make sure you have the latest Nvidia drivers – as I play movies through MCE I have to have the latest MPEG decoder driver as well – I use the Nvidia one which seems to work the best.
Otherwise try VLC media player – which will basically play anything you throw at it – if that doesn't play a movie file then it will either be a problem with your video card or the drivers.
