And get the individual codes needed in sequence, made a device for each code. And a custom button for each sequence. And then made a sequence to activate each function 1 by 1
Just as if it was turning on an amp, vcr, and then changing inputs on each.

On topic: yes, you can use the Harmony remotes to hack many players, if a code exists. It can all be a bit complicated, and of course you need the remote codes, but it can be done with the Harmonys.
Could I potentially wipe my Blu-Ray to original settings or something? How do I get rid of this message? EDIT: Apologies, I've checked in the settings, and it was something I just had to turn off. I'll try the hack again.
No, still doesn't work. I assume my Panasonic Blu-ray DMP-BD81 doesn't work with it, which would kind of make sense as the region hack remote for it doesn't list the model mentioned in the tutorial I followed.
Anyone know a hack for my model I can perform with a Harmony remote, or should I just get the eBay remote?
You should just buy the ebay remote. Certainly, you'll be able to do it with your Harmony remote given the right codes but you have to find those codes. If you can't do that, then easier just to get the remote.
If you plan to regularly change region, then (depending on model) your Harmony may be able to learn the correct signal from the e-bay remote for future use.
Used this on a Panasonic Blu-ray Disc Recorder DMR-BWT835 year 2013 witch is not in the list, no problem.
1. Check Hex code buttons 3, 5, and 9, when you release the button the indicator on the remote screen should not last longer than any other button and if the player has a IR indicator this should blink. Both player and the remote should be using BD 1, the factory set code.
2. Make a new Utility Activity with the player remote buttons and hex code buttons, map to the number pad
No 1 = (OK) No 2 = (6) No 3 = Hex code 3 No 4 = (Rewind) No 5 = Hex code 5 No 6 = (Audio) No 7 = (8) No 8 = (1) No 9 = Hex code 9 No 0 = (4)
3. Reboot player, turn off and pull plug for a minute or two, turn off all connected devices, TV amp, power up player with no disc loaded press buttons 1 to 0 in 10 to 15sec total, wait for player to restart before testing.
I turned on the Blu-ray with the activity that was all ten keys in a row with no pauses and turned it off again. Then I turned it on and off yet again and unplugged it, unconnected to anything else by HDMI. I waited over a minute and tried to press the ten buttons in the allotted time space (could have screwed up) and it did shut off, but may have not restarted (when I turned it back on the screen was dark so maybe it had restarted), but the Region 1 disc still wouldn't read.
So while I can't deny it made some effect to the player, I can't see where I'm going wrong here.
I added the Panasonic DMP-BD81 to my Harmony remote, there is no Select button listed for this device but there is an OK button so where did you get the Select button from?
Made a new Utility Activity with the buttons from the Panasonic DMP-BD81 and the hex codes and tried it on my player and it automatically restarted when the last button was pressed.
Select the Utility Activity in the Harmony remote then turn on player with the button on the player, wait till it is fully on and no disc is displayed, press the 10 buttons, no rush you can pause 1 or 2sec between buttons when you press the last button it should display please then scroll a few other words then hello as it restarts, test after no disc is displayed.
This of course will only happen if you have got all the buttons right and Panasonic haven't changed things.
I've tried the first hex code in place of the OK button as it seemed to function like it, but I've had nothing occur other than a static fuzz screen which might be unrelated to the player. What am I doing wrong?
