Hey guys - quick update: I went ahead with the Denon 1509.

Now looking at getting a 5.1 set of satellite speakers. I like the look of the KEF 1005.2s, will these be alright with the Denon? At what point does frequency come in to it?

From what i've read the Denons range is 0 - 100 but the Denon goes down to 120 or something... is this jibberish or is there something there i should be concerned about?

Any other suggestions for similar units around the similar price $700 - $800 tops.

Eastern hi-fi are having another sale this weekend, there were some 5.1 systems in there when I looked last week, but they may have all gone by now.

Worth a shot if you are in Auckland, which your profile doesn't have listed.

Thanks very much for the heads up... might take a look this weekend.

But they would need to be having 70% off sales with how ridiculously high their rates are! The KEF 1005s are $700/$800 at JB Hi Fi and $1500 or so at Eastern Hi Fi.. what a farking joke.

Avalon supply JB for lots of things, so they were supplying to jb who were making money at those prices. I didnt really look at the prices when I was there since we were looking for something else.

Lots of onkyo recivers were going out the door that day tho.

Avalon was the other part of eastern hifi that imported onkyo and kef and a few other oddball things.

They sold toe JB who were selling at those prices.

Last day of the sale tomorrow, so best get in and see what they have left if you are wanting something.
