in that case please cancel out the idea that you can play games released from 2008 or you might be disappointed. i'm not saying dont buy, i'm just saying dont expect magic, but you should be able to play some games on 800x600 res i guess

I'm thinking of buying a laptop too, and am looking at
http://www.dse.co.nz/dse.shop/4c664a9801fbeefa273fc0a87f3b0718/Product/View/XC8843

We only really want a laptop to check emails, look at the internet, and occasionally watch DVDs while away from home.  Does anybody think that this laptop is likely to perform reasonably?

that computer's more than adequate for what you'd be doing. you dont need any faster one! for your purpose you're looking at the processor speed mainly and 2.3 dual core is plenty. my post earlier about compaq has 2.53 dual core and that would be 10% faster for your purpose. but the tosh is gonna be very quick for what you do.

dannywii is replying to the OP (original poster). in fact we should stop here as what we're going is called hijacking the thread and the moderators would be very crossed when they find out.
