 As usual Telecom have rush released a product without testing it. Mind you I have spent about an hour on the phone to Telecom (the one number that does seem to work).



How do you propose they "fix" it then? Travel to every country in the world? Make a few calls, send a few texts, then move on to the next country?


So because YOU experienced problems in Chile and Argentina, then Telecom have rush released a product? Really?

Waipara1: I have had Telecom XT problems in Chile and Argentina. Voice calls seldom connect and I cant retrieve voicemail.

My advise. If you are a New Zealander and planning an overseas trip, sign up with Vodafone!


I think you may not understand the amount of variables and the complexity that is behind what we have come to know as 'Global Roaming'.

Back on topic. People need to make sure that when travelling abroad that their handset isn't stuck on UMTS ONLY and make sure it is switched to Dual UMTS/GSM. AT&T isn't a 100% 3G network and awhile ago I was caught out with having my phone stuck on UMTS only, while using a local AT&T SIM and wondering why I wasn't getting coverage. After that hickup I have'nt had any problems since, with local connections or roaming on AT&T at all.

Yes roaming using network elements on another carrier that your home service provider has no control over!
