Adsl2+ is 1 Mbit up. The uplink is I think 4mhz and If low is due to interference. Master splitter

Chorus came to do some checks today - confirmed that line is testing fine, just that must be too far, too many "multiples"... Looks like a rollback to ADSL2+ is on the cards, as everyone suggested. Thanks for helping out Vodafone Dylan.
Here is hoping I still get the 1.5 up that I used to get with S/shot..

ADSL2+ is not 1.5 up max is 1.2 if you are living next to the cabinet / exchange and as already confirmed you are not that close to the serving hardware

What do you recommend Dylan? Do i call customer services and ask to be moved back to ADSL2+due to speed issues? Or is this something you could initiate? Happy Queens Birthday - hope you're not ready this on a day off...

I'd call today if you have spare time. I'm at work today and the wait times of the queues I can see are non-existent.

Please note: I have a professional bias towards Vodafone.

Thanks Jaxar - called yesterday as advised. Luckily queues were short, because I spoke with 5 different people in less that 30 minutes. Each time I had to introduce myself and re-answer security questions.

Selected technical support, requested change to ADSL from VDSL. Bumped to next rep, can't remember why. Next rep said please hold (thinking hes off to do something), and then a third rep answers and I have to explain for the 3rd time. That rep says can't help, but promises that someone in sales will be able to sort...
So 4th rep in sales comes on stream, explain the situation 4th time, and they say, no, if we arrange the change you'll have to pay for it... so they put me through to billing. Explain for 5th time, billing guy tries to do something, says the system won't let him and that the sales team can sort it - I'll put you through... Hang on, no, how about you take ownership and try and sort it out? So he puts me on hold and deals with someone else internally himself... comes back after 5 and says he'll email me later once he hears back. Emails me a few hours later to say he'll update me with progress. Felt like they were all playing answer call as quick as possible and end call as quick as possible to keep their stats looking good.

So, at midnight the internet disappeared. I can see the modem is now showing it is on ADSL2+ and can see the ADSL line stats. However, no internet. Call customer services, who say activation is sometime today, before 7pm. No way to know when exactly it will happen as it is apparently an automated service. Seems odd that the 2 processes aren't synchronised?

If you're using the HG659 you may need to make some changes to it to work on ADSL. There's details on Vodafone Community here

Can't say I'm particularly impressed with the help you got. Dylan's post above is something definitely worth going through. There is a good chance that it is the only thing holding you up although not having looked at the specifics on your account I don't know for certain.
Essentially if your profile is showing ADSL 2 now then it comes down to authentication which really should only need the modem to correctly send through the username and password. The post Dylan linked too should fix this. I suspect what the CSR saw is that the job was under action and as he said he cannot know exactly when it would happen but it may well have already happened without the system he is looking at having been updated.

Dylan/Jaxar - you were right, the ADSL was all go, I have not yet figured out how to reconfigure the HG659 to ADSL, (the delete button mentioned in the instructions Dylan referenced does not seem to be there?) but I resurrected my old ADSL modem and configured it to Vonda user/pass and it came onstream immediately.

When I get time I'll have another crack at the HG659 config...

Ha. Good thinking. That didn't occur to me.
How's the line stats looking now?

From the instructions ...

"The Internet settings page will appear

 6. If there are settings under internet_vdsl and Internet_Ethernet, click Delete, otherwise continue to step 7 ..."

If there are no internet_vdsl or Internet_Ethernet settings, then maybe there is nothing to delete and therefore no "delete button"?

Just a guess. I don't have an HG659.

Sync is now about 1 up and 11 down from memory. Experience overall will probably be better on ADSL. One of those wonderful borderline cases. Sucks really because of course vdsl would normally be better, but quite interesting for telco geeks!
