Here's my speedtest

https://www.speedtest.net/result/1024309314.png

Terrible speed usually get over 10mbps down and 800 kbps up. And my ping which is usually under 50ms to Auckland is over 9000ms.

This is after a few router reboots too. Vodafone helpdesk just give the usual "take speedtest readings for three days then get back to us and we will lodge a fault". Useless

If you are having problems, log a fault.
Believe me, it helps with solving problems.

i tried.  the CSR told me it was 'a problem with the website plugin'
What website plugin?  I can't load anything!!!!!!!
He then told me to reboot my modem and that I need to do that all the time because modems need to update their profile.
Grrrrrr.

You have nothing to be worried about, Slingshot is _much_ worse imo.

Hey John, the problems appear to have been fixed, was getting quite good speeds at about 11pm last night. Might want to ask the techs to fix the routing though since Unleash is available over the CHiX. From my Vodafone connection at home I can traceroute to Snap and it get's delivered over the CHiX but not Unleash, it's a pretty simple problem to get sorted out.

Try just after 5pm tonight... that's when mine and my workmates connections have come to a grinding halt.

Back to the original question - my experience with vodafone broadband has been generally fine for ages now and I'd recommend them.
There was a big latency issue a few months back which really messed up WoW raiders but I think that's been mostly sorted. But for a general web browser user like me it wasn't that bad in my experience.

my 2c worth..

Yep, I know.  I'm just saying that has been the pattern for the last 3 nights... craps out just after 5pm and comes right around 10-11pm.

Things seem to have come right tonight, pages like http://www.orionsarm.com/ load instantly rather than seemingly 56k speed with occasional timeouts.

I've noticed that too.. a few weeks back 1 torrent could almost max out my 7 Mbps connection.
Tried one last night and wouldn't even get over 1 Mbps (around 125 KBps).
Maybe that was the fix?!! Throttle the old torrents right back... who knows?
