DeroyBoy: I also paid $19 for the up-to-date and received an email saying delivery by 9/9/09. For that price you think they could have sent it over night!

I rang them. Ended up getting a $25 apple online store credit.

technically, they are breaking the T+C.

They said delivery is 3-7 business days, but mine was showing 8-9business days, so they gave me a credit.

im still pissed that its going to take that long, but I spose $25 credit is okay. I was going to buy a VGA adapter sometime soon anyway.

Hmm. Everyone appears to be out of stock (except Tosh, who were never in stock in the first place).

I just got an email from TotallyMac saying that my copy will be sent today (so I should receive it tomorrow).

using the up-to-date program, i got it from the apple online store. I paid $20.

Apparantly shipping was free and apparantly apple "Can not" put discs on a courier (aka T&T)

Still has not arrived.

Using the Up-To-Date programme I got an email saying it had shipped on the 28th and will arrive on the 9th September, using Australia Post. I think that they may be attaching it to the ballast of some trans Tasman kayak. I hope that the 9th is the 'worst case scenario' and it will arrive soon. Otherwise I will phone Apple too.
Off topic, but my nice new MacBook Pro, which was ordered with the optional 7200rpm 500GB hard drive, has the 5400rpm drive in it! Awaiting a reply from Renaissance.

technically speaking, the 9th is out of the terms and coditions of the up-to-date program.

I ended up getting a $25 apple online thingy because of that little technical thing. I knew it wouldnt move the shipping date calling up, but hey, i got a coupon out of it.

My copy (from TotallyMac) was delivered today. I wasn't home so I need to pick it up from the courier office after work.

My upgrade disc arrived this morning at 8:35, so I was pleased about that.

had to do an upgrade instead of a clean install because I was right out of time, but thats okay, tonight I will get onto it and do a clean install (and wipe out my lovely bootcamp partition).

Im a little disappointed with the Exchange implementation. The concept is really good, but unfortunately, in practice its not 100% - it checks every 1/5/30 minutes. whereas proper exchange is PUSH.

But oh well,

Definitely a lot snappier.

The delivery date that Apple quote you on the orders from the online store are a worst case scenario.

Mine was posted as 9/9/9 and i got it today (2/9/9)

I also pre-ordered mine on the Apple site and have had the email stating it was sent on the 28th of August and would arrive by the 9th of September. Seems an awfully long time when it's coming from Australia.

Mine arrived today. Sent on 28th August. Still within their terms I believe. Came by Fast Kayak. Installed OK, but gave me a fright when the screen went blank and nothing apparently happened for what seemed about 5 minutes. Had to put my ear up to the disk to hear something was happening. But all going fine. Glad someone above had warned about the blank screen or I would have pushed the power button and probably stuffed it up.
