Didn't the NZ Herald Focus do a piece on them? And the total on the receipt turned out to be $46 in total for a small amount of food delivered?

And your point is? I'd rather have a smaller portion of nice food for $46 than a bucket of slop for $20

Hmm do they allow for bulk orders ? :D ie: 20 staff :)

Likely depends on the place you're ordering from. Also ours was delivered by a guy on a bike.

Motorbike? Or a scooter like the pizza hut guys?

Push bike x2 and a car so far.

There shouldn't be a surprise expense seeing as it is a flat $5.99 delivery fee. You should be getting delivered exactly the same as what you would get going in to pick up or dine.

I guess it's just personal opinion then. IMO $46 for that was pretty expensive. But knowing that the delivery fee is actually just $5.99 now, the delivery fee isn't bad!

$6 for delivery is a great deal IMO.

Some people will walk 5 mins to avoid paying the 50c to use a different banks ATM, so would probably happily spend half an hour getting food inorder to avoid paying $6.

Used it the other day for some bagels in the office. $6 is a great price I though.

I should've waited a little longer till I ordered as it took my car in his car a little while to navigate the Mt Eden Village shops to get down the road to my office.

Will be using Uber Eats again for sure. It saved me time, About 35 mins there and back just driving, which can be more valuable than a couple of bucks.

Uber Eats is coming to Wellington, they are advertising for drivers: http://www.trademe.co.nz/jobs/hospitality-tourism/waiting-staff/listing-1379855845.htm

Also for Auckland people, they have expanded to the North Shore.

Ubereats has launched in Wellington today, there is a free delivery promo code of WELLYEATS

Trying it out at the moment, the web browser version seems to get stuck when trying to load the checkout (tried 3 diff browsers and 2 machines), however the iOS app seems ok.

Coverage area is huge, covers the whole Wellington City area up to the edge of Johnsonville

Did an order today and got it delivered to work - was incredibly impressed and think I'll use it more especially when it is raining.

I almost cried when I saw the line stop at Ngauranga. Understandable though if they are just on scooters and bikes.

I do feel it's a bit silly not going up there because that is the area that it is just slightly inconvenient to come in to town. Now I still have to drive 10-15min to get Five Borough's wings =( ...or ask the Uber to go via them on the way home from the airport. hahaha god that is a massive first world problem! I almost feel bad for saying it, almost.

I have been using this service about once a week sometimes more to delivery various foods. I have not had any bad experiences with delivery so far, though sometimes delivery can occur considerably before the stated time which can be inconvenient if you have a specific plan.

I was surprised how quick the service was, I was comparing with Deliver Easy tonight who can take around 45 mins.

I ordered from Burger Wisconsin in Northland to be delivered to work in Kelburn and going off the receipt it looks 25 mins from me pushing submit to when they showed up with the order so over all really pleased.

I was dubious to see my 3 Beef Pho being delivered by Bike, but I was literally astonished how quick they arrived, and nothing was split more than a car would be.

I haven't used the app yet, but is it possible to specify what level the delivery person should come to or are you supposed to meet them on the ground floor?

You can add comments. I work in a secure building with no public access and just added the comment "will come down when you're outside" - my delivery person was kind enough to give me a quick call to notify he was there. You see the progress of the delivery in near real time and get notifications.
