Is there any list of areas or exchanges that have been upgraded. I've read most of the posts and it sounds like Howick, Bucklands Beach, Northland, Hamilton and parts of Christchurch.

Not Beach Haven yet. Still stick on my low low low upstream on my bigpipe connection.

There is a list but I don't think it's public domain... There are thousands of DSLAMs to upgrade and they are doing a few hundred per day so it will be weeks before it's complete.

I've gone from 0.5 to 30mbps in the last 3 months so I'm overall pretty happy, but now I have some speed I want more. I've got a taste for it and now see how faster internet can really benefit me and my plans to setup a business from home.

not bad, i wouldnt expect much of a change in upstream on 998, good to see it stayed steady for you though!

33 to 50 is a decent jump!

So we got upgraded overnight, very impressive results.

SNR: Before = 12, after = 7
Attenuation: Before = 17, after = 19
Download: Before = 28.5, after = 47.1
Upload: Before = 10.4, after = 9.6

Pretty impressive for about 850m from exchange (according to Chorus)

Vodafone VDSL in Bombay. Just gone from an average 32 Mb/s to 53. Slight increase in u/l and latency increased from 7 to 22.

I'm supposed to respect my elders, but it's getting harder and harder for me to find one now.

isnt' bombay in india? :)

i expect the latency should go back to normal in a week's time after dlm is finished.  which may boost your speed to around 56 megabit or so too.. (ie hardly at all.. but especially decreased latency)

i wouldn't worry about attenuation, but if you don't get shifted to 17a you could find your snr goes up over time, and your upload decreases further. (that said they did kind of warn that upload speeds wouldn't be that great compared to download increases)

Nah mate, its where all your spuds and onions come from. Also considered by some to be North Waikato :-)
