There are over 6000 ISAMs and the rollout isn't North to south, alphabetical etc. If I were you guys I wouldn't bother trying to interpret when you're likely to get upgraded (beyond saying it's an approx 4 week rollout)

Just curious is all :)   So, what approx date would you consider to be the start of said "approx 4 week rollout"?

I guess about a week ago.

THAT IN NO WAY MEANS THAT IN THREE WEEKS IF YOU HAVEN'T BEEN UPGRADED PEOPLE SHOULD COMPLAIN AND THINK SOMETHING IS TERRIBLY WRONG. Plans change, some ISAMs may have special requirements and need to be done after the bulk rollout.

But it's a ballpark.

Cool, so by the 27th November then!!!11one

At least I have a guaranteed date now, know that something must be terribly wrong if I don't have it by then and know who to complain to if I don't have it by then....

:D

(Appreciate the reply :)  Completely understand that's only a rough ballpark and won't have any issue if it happens weeks after that.)

I'd be interested to know if its possible to request a broadcom card upgrade to Chorus somehow....
I'm already on a connection that syncs up to 65/10 on the old bandplan and I don't get Fiber for another 2 years.

Here i still am not getting fibre even tho i have an ONT in my house.

Rather my VDSL get 998 and i can have bragging rights. But my 65/10 is still cheaper than 100/20 or what ever it is now.

Somehow I doubt it.

I also seem to recall anecdotal evidence from earlier in the thread that the ikanos card may give better improvements for people well under the 70mb limit? (i.e. quite far from the cabinet - in that it seemed to be giving a bit of a better improvement to downstream?)

I have heard from a good source the changes *should* be done by the 18th of December and that they have 7000 ISAM's to do

Mark, what were your up/down speeds before the upgrade?

I'm rural also on a near new Whisper cabinet and currently enjoy 57.8/10.3 Mbps on a 17A profile. It will be interesting to see the changes.
