Mark, what were your up/down speeds before the upgrade?

I'm rural also on a near new Whisper cabinet and currently enjoy 57.8/10.3 Mbps on a 17A profile. It will be interesting to see the changes.

It was 42/10 before.  So not a huge amount extra on upload but a nice bump for download.

I'm on an 8b profile.

Hi all,

Long time lurker, but had to post.

Just had an upgrade at home in bombay. Was sitting at 45 down 10 up prev

My question is, is there any way I can increase that, given that my attainable is 94 down and im currently at 70 down.

Cheers all.

Your profile is very interesting...

As for your speeds however, based off where your capping, i would say your on an ikanos linecard, which is capped at 70/30.

As an observation, is it me or based on the reports, are all these upgrades happening in the middle of the day instead of triggering between 3-6am which is the normal time that DLM is let out to play and make non-urgent adjustments?

@nigelj - I noticed mine happen early hours of the morning. Was about 5am when mine changed.

So.. just to clarify as I don't understand fully (apologies all) I can only get 70 down. Which hey is like fibre.

But if it was on equipment that limits a certain speed why would it show the attainable as being higher, wouldnt it just be limited to 70.

Your attainable, is simply an estimation on an attainable rate. You shouldnt put too much weight on it. - its a calculation your modem is making.

As per the figures above, on that linecard the limitations are fixed at 70/30.

So assuming this is the 998 update (others have said that "Power Management Mode" isn't changing with G998), Downstream is now about 2-4Mbit better than best sync, but my upstream still has taken a beating like Rich's.  Makes me wonder if there is some super strange profile or something...

based off a few little changes there, you have jumped over to 998 i would say.

For a originally clearly iffy line, not a bad improvement!

vigor 130 has a Lantiq chipset, paired with a broadcom based chipset would likely juice a little more out of your line however given your broadcom linecard. Differences could be a little to minor to mess with your current setup however.
